Typically a person’s motivation is tied to their reason why for doing the business.

Some of the popular reasons are:

  • Quit my job
  • Get out of debt
  • Retired my spouse
  • Pay for College

Talk Their Talk

Say that your target market is a blue collar worker that’s just scraping by with the electric company blowing up his phone to pay the bill and he has 2 kids who needs new musical instruments for school, do you think he can wrap my mind around being in business for myself? Smart a$$ question but this is how you must see your prospect in order for you to know how to effectively speak to them. I empathize effective because you can do a lot of communicating via email and other content and sound like your speaking a foreign language.

That’s why learning your target market is so important. Catch my FREE training on identifying your target market in minutes here.

Bottom line, there is a large chance that your ideal prospect is in it for the money and that is perfectly fine. Pay attention to your language and how you communicate with them. Lay low on lifestyle and the benefits of being a business owner if that is not the primary motivator. Use these prospecting tips to take your business over the top.
